Pianist, Michael Serio, a Buffalo native, began his studies with Dr. James Kosnik and August Martin at the Villa Maria Institute. He began performing solo concerts as a teenager and was awarded a full scholarship to the Eastman school where he studied with Maria Luisa Faini and Barbara Lister-Sink.  He finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Buffalo under Stephen Manes.

In 1986, Mr Serio moved to Boston where he studied occasionally with Andrew Rangell. In 2002, He had the good fortune to begin studies in the Alexander Technique with Debi Adams. The Alexander Technique transformed his playing (and life) and he decided to train as a teacher. He received his Alexander Technique teaching certification through Tommy Thompson’s program in 2009. Mr Serio returned to Buffalo in 2015 and is music director at the Unity Church of Buffalo. He continues to perform solo and chamber music concerts and share his passion for wellness practices with area musicians.
